This is definitely not the week to put your line-up on autopilot as physical status and match-up analysis is key for success.

START

Randy Moss - With the rhythm he has developed with Tom Brady, Moss is looking like a superstar again. He's caught TDs in long and short situations and the Bengals defense wont be able to stop him

Chad Johnson - With Rudi Johnson out, expect the Bengals to go to the air early and often.

TJ Houshmandzadeh -If the Patriots key in on Johnson, expect another big day from Housh.

Terrell Owens - WR studs have been consistent performers so far this year. TO is happy, healthy, and ready to score.

Have 'em ride the pine!

Anquan Boldin - He's hurt and will probably sit.

Steve Smith - With the questions concerning Jake's health, it should be a frustrating day for Smith.

TIGHT ENDS

Start

Ben Watson - Watson has been a consistent scorer this year and should continue against the Bengals

Jeremy Shockey - With the Eagle's secondary looking beat up, Shockey should be a primary target for Manning, particularly with Burress' lingering injuries.

SIT!

Kellen Winslow - He is still a game time decision and even if he starts his injury will hamper production.

Week Four Fantasy Football Sit or Start - QB's and RB's

Week three had a lot of surprises. Our big pick last week was Miami RB Ronnie Brown. He racked up some serious points and left opposing owners heartbroken.

Lets check out some of the key players for Week Four.

QUARTERBACK
START

Tony Romo - Although the Rams have been solid against the pass, Romo has just been too effective in getting the ball to his receivers. Terrell Owens and Jason Witten seem to be right where Romo needs them to be and have made 16 and 14 grabs, respectively. His 8 TDs are tied for third in the league.

Tom Brady - Almost goes without saying! He has so many weapons and seems to find 'em at the right time. Moss has improved his route running and will snatch at least one TD out of the air this week. The Cincinnati defense is swiss cheese and with Rudi Johnson probably out, the Bengals will not have many sustained drives, so expect the ball to be in Brady's hands often.

Carson Palmer - As noted last week, you got to keep your studs on the field, so Palmer is still a go even though he faces NE's top ranked defense. There are questions as the secondary will key in on Chad Johnson and Houshmandzadeh has injury issues that may keep him off the field.

Matt Hasselbeck - We expect the Seahawks passing game to produce good numbers against the 49ers secondary. WR Branch has been reliable as has been Engram and Burleson. Most analyst have predicted at least 2 TD's through the air

Brett Favre - The Viking's run defense has been stellar so we can expect the Packers to focus on their passing game. Favre's improved decision making coupled with an offense that's clicking will keep him on the field for most owners.

SIT

Derek Anderson - If you have better options, this may be the week to sit Anderson. Week 2 against the Bengals has resulted in misleading stats, so he would be a dangerous choice if you are going by the numbers. Of course, he is facing the Ravens daunting defense which will be pumped in this divisional game.

Damon Huard - Shawn Merriman's going head hunting and Huard will be the target. The poor offensive line has not been able to make holes for Larry Johnson, and without a running game, SD will be prepared to shut down the passing game as well.

RUNNING BACKS
START

Joseph Addai - The Denver Broncos are giving up over 160 yds on the ground and will not be able to slow down Addai. Expect 100+ and at least 1 TD.

Ronnie Brown -We like Ronnie Brown again this week against the Raider's D. With Miami's questionable passing offense, the Dolphins will continue to rely on the ground game.

Lamont Jordan - Jordan is almost officially at stud status for fantasy owners and he should produce plenty of points this week. With Zak Thomas out, Miami's defense will have problems with Jordan both on the ground and catching checkdown passes to bail out Daunte Culpepper.

Marion Barber III - Barber will have a big game against the Rams as the Cowboy's solid passing game opens up the running game and vice versa. The Rams rushing defense will continue to struggle.

Marshawn Lynch - Lynch made a believer of us with his performance against NE, and the Jets are not nearly as potent against the run.

SIT

Marion Barber III - Hmmmm.....this is a great week as we are gonna find out whether the cowboys are as far along as their fans hope they are. Barber has scored well against two suspect defenses, and the Bears will manhandle the 'boys o-line and swarm to the ball. Just ask LT!

Laurence Maroney - With injury and the goal line prowess of both Heath Evans and Sammy Morris, I would resist the urge to play Maroney. He may get you close to 100 yds, but without the touchdowns, there are better options.

Larry Johnson - Nope. Even if he has good outings for a couple of weeks, it would be hard to endorse him. The Chiefs are not good fundamentally and the Chargers are going to unload all their frustrations against KC.

NFL Football – Week Three Round-Up!

Week three is almost in the books with the exception of the Monday Night game featuring the Tennessee Titans against the New Orleans Saints. We saw several teams maintain their undefeated status, while other teams were able to finally get a win. The Patriots continued to dominate and remain perfect along with the Colts and the Steelers. Here is a rundown of Sunday’s action:

Buffalo Bills v. NE Patriots

Most would agree that the New England Patriots have established themselves as the elite team of this young season. Their 38 – 7 victory over the Buffalo Bills was achieved through the machine-like execution of the offense and the brutal efficiency of the defense. The Brady-Moss connection continued and Asante Samuel notched his first interception.

Miami Dolphins v. NY Jets

The Jets are showing signs of life with a 31-28 decision over the Dolphins. Chad Pennington answered critics with a 15 for 21 performance netting 124 yards and TDs through the air and the ground. Despite the loss, Miami’s Ronnie Brown impressed with 112 yards on the ground and 2 rushing TDs and one reception TD.

San Diego Chargers v. Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers improved to 3-0 win a surprise win over San Diego. Brett Favre tied Dan Marino’s TD record with the last of his three TD throws. The Chargers have to regroup as they fall to 2-1. Norv Turner is starting to feel the heat as many feel that this is one of the most talented rosters in football. LT has had a disappointing season so far with rushing totals far below those of last year. Could all the endorsements and hype following his MVP season affecting his focus?

Cincinnati Bengals v. Seattle Seahawks

Carson Palmer and the Cincinnati Bengals feel to 1-2 despite strong performances from TJ Houshmanzadah and Chad Johnson. Although the offense was good between the 20’s, they were not able to punch it in and convert for points. Turnovers by Palmer sealed their fate. Seattle was able to take advantage of defensive breakdowns and secure the win, 24-21.

St. Louis Rams v. TB Buccaneers

The reinvigorated Tampa Bay Buccaneers improved to 2-1 with their win over the St. Louis Rams. Earnest Graham shocked the Rams with two fourth quarter touchdowns. Steven Jackson had a better day running the rock with 115 yards with no touchdowns. Although picked by many to be a play-off contender, the Rams fall to 0-3.

Arizona Cardinals v. Baltimore Ravens

Kurt Warner looked like he was back in MVP form after he replaced Matt Lienart in the Cardinals loss to the Baltimore Ravens, 26-23. After replacing the struggling Lienart, Warner threw 2 TDs to tie the game. Kyle Boller, who came in for Baltimore’s starting QB Steve McNair, led the game winning drive that resulting in a field goal from Kicker Matt Stover.

Carolina Panthers v. Atlanta Falcons

Jake Delhomme left the game early after throwing 2 TDs, while Deshaun Foster added two more as the Panthers defeated the Falcons 27-20. Joey Harrington, with recently acquired QB Byron Leftwich breathing down his neck, had a great game with 2 TD passes of his own. CB DeAngelo Hall hurt the Falcons’ chance of winning this game by drawing several penalties which led to one of Delhomme’s scores.

New York Giants v. Washington Redskins

With an explosion of second half points, the Giants avoided a 0-3 start by defeating the Redskins, 24-17. Eli Manning entered this season under the spotlight and has risen to the challenge, throwing a crucial touchdown to Plaxico Burress. Journeyman Reuben Droughns made his three carries count with two plunges scoring. Washington squandered the chance to go 3-0 when they failed to punch the ball in from the 1 yard line in the waning minutes of the game.

Dallas Cowboys v. Chicago Bears

In a matchup where the Bears’ defense was the star attraction, the Cowboys defense ended up stealing the show. Rex Grossman is now officially on the hot seat after throwing three interceptions and no touchdowns. Cedric Benson was also shut down rushing for less than 50 yards and averaging less than three yards per carry. Tony Romo, Terrell Owens, and Marion Barber III continued their offensive dominance. With TE Jason Witten having another great game, the Cowboys seem to have reclaimed their position among the NFC’s elite teams.

Minnesota Vikings v. KC Chiefs

Damon Huard led the Chiefs from the winless column with a TD in their victory over the Vikings, 13-10. In the defensive struggle, Minnesota was able to take heart in the continuing contribution from their first round pick, Adrian Peterson, who ran for 102 yards and a TD. KC’s Larry Johnson’s frustrations continued with another poor outing.

Indianapolis Colts v. Houston Texans

Houston Texans will have to wonder what might have been after facing the undefeated Colts without their star wideout Andre Johnson. Peyton Manning continues to benefit from Joseph Addai’s spectacular running in their 30-24 victory over the Texans. Manning threw for one TD while Addai added 2 more.

Detroit Lions v. Philadelphia Eagles

After a week of sport commentators speculating whether Philadelphia’s QB comments would be a distraction to the team, Donovan McNabb’s four TD performance put to rest any doubt. The Eagle’s 56-21 dismantling of the Detroit Lions sent a statement to the rest of the league to not count Philly out yet. Although exposed defensively, the Lion’s offense continued to put up big yardage with Jon Kitna throwing for over 400 yards with 2 TDs.

Jacksonville Jaguars v. Denver Broncos

The Jaguars upset the favored Broncos 23-14 by shutting down Travis Henry and coming up with a late interception of Denver QB Jay Cutler. Although scoring a touchdown, Henry ran for under 40 yards, with only 6 in the first half.

SF 49ers v. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers remained undefeated and handed the 49ers their first loss in their 37-16 victory over SF on Sunday. It was a tale of two runners as Pittsburgh’s Willie Parker ran for 133 yards while SF’s star rb Frank Gore was held to under 40 yards. Gore played with a heavy heart after the death of his mother last week.

Cleveland Browns v. Oakland Raiders

Fresh off their shootout victory over the Bengals last week, the Browns came back to earth in their 24-26 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Led by Lamont Jordan and Duante Culpepper, the Raiders got their first win of the season and the first win for their rookie coach, Lane Kiffin. Brown’s QB overcame a shaky start to bring his team into field goal range for the win. However, after a strategically called time out, the kick was blocked.

Week Three - NFL Fantasy Football Sit or Start

WIDE RECEIVERS
START

Chad Johnson - This game has the potential of being another shoot out. Carson is always going to find Chad in the end-zone.

TJ Houshmandzadeh -See above. Despite ocho-cinco's status as the marquis guy, TJ still has many opportunities to score.

Randy Moss - Depending on your league's scoring system, Randy is good for fifteen + points every week!

Steve Smith - Atlanta is struggling and not just the offense. Perfect conditions for someone who is going to score regardless of the opponent.

Deion Branch - Cincinnati is still reeling from last week's torching, while Deion and Matt seem to be getting a rhythm.

Have 'em ride the pine!

Anquan Boldin - Baltimore's defense is playing well, and Boldin has not proven to be a strong starter. Alot of commentators believed that he might develop into Matt's number one option, but this has not happened.

Ronald Curry - Cleveland's defense is not impressive, but neither is Oakland's offense. McCown is trying to keep his starting position but he just hasn't been effective.

Week Three - NFL Fantasy Football Sit or Start

Ooo Wee! We're excited to present our first sit or start post to the blog. After serving as commissioners for a couple of Fantasy Football Leagues, we've gotten a good take on the pulse of the game. We hope to add more Fantasy Football content in the future but we couldn't wait to get at least a few of our picks for this week on the blog so here goes...

We're starting with our QB's and RB's...check back for our WR's and TE's

QUARTERBACK
START

Derek Anderson - Not ready to drink the cool-aid yet, but Anderson may benefit from an Oakland pass defense ranked 29th in the league. With safety blanket Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards starting to heat up, Anderson may use the momentum of last week's freakish outing to air it out.

Carson Palmer - I'm sure you know not to sit your studs, and this week is not the week to vary from that winning formula. Although stingy with the points, the Seahawk's pass defense has shown some vulnerability and Johnson and Houshmandzadeh are sure to get the ball in the endzone.

Matt Hasselbeck - This is the week that Hasselbeck starts getting his owners their money's worth. The Cincinnati secondary was exposed last week , and although their not likely to get toasted for 50 plus points, I don't think their going to solve their problems in a week.

SIT

Brett Favre - Despite the resurgence of Green Bay, it's hard to imagine Favre having much success against a humiliated Charger defense rearing to go after the whooping by New England. Notwithstanding week 2, the Charger defense has playmakers able to stop Green Bay's passing attack and end the winning streak.

RUNNING BACKS
START

Joseph Addai - Before the injury to Houston's star wideout, Andre Johnson, many observers have suggested that this might be the Colts first loss. Addai's running opens up Indy's passing game, however, Houston's Run D should give Addai fits. However, without Johnson, Houston's D is going to spend a lot of time on the field and that means a steady dose of Addai.

Ronnie Brown - The Jet's D is a little banged up and Mangini hasn't impressed with his scheming, both against the pass and the run. Brown, although not quite a sleeper, will pleasantly please fantasy owners this week.

SIT

Marshawn Lynch - Not this week! The New England run defense defines stout and if Buffalo scores it's gonna be through the air.

Marion Barber III - Hmmmm.....this is a great week as we are gonna find out whether the cowboys are as far along as their fans hope they are. Barber has scored well against two suspect defenses, and the Bears will manhandle the 'boys o-line and swarm to the ball. Just ask LT!

Laurence Maroney - A lot of folks were expecting Maroney time after the departure of Corey Dillon, but Sam Morris has step into Dillon's shoe's. As in the San Diego game, expect goal line plunges to feature Morris or even Heath Evans. Plenty of work between the 20's for Maroney, but unless he breaks one, the scoring opportunities will be scarce.

Larry Johnson - DISCLOSURE!!!! As a Fantasy Football enthusiast, I cannot guarantee that I will follow my own advice, which is, sit Larry Johnson. Assuming you have other options, most A or B level running backs will fare better than Johnson will against Minnesota. However, based on his past production and generally high draft position, it is hard to resist the feeling that this week will be the week. But it won't.
